12月12日上午,我校校园里彩旗翻飞、掌声雷动,全校3000多名师生员工齐聚学校操场，热烈欢迎高二、六班学生王轩从上海载誉归来，在刚刚结束的第五届“21世纪.学乐杯”全国中小学英语演讲比赛中，在有上海师范大学附中、南京外国语学校石家庄第一中学、成都七中、深圳实验中学、香港拔萃女书院等著名中学顶尖学生云集，竞争异常激烈的情况下，在自备题目演讲、抽签答问、现场问答等考试过程中，王轩同学以深厚扎实的英文功底，技压群芳的口语表达，敏捷机智的临场应对一路过关斩将，征服专家、评委，赢得一致好评，以中国大陆第一名的绝对优势，勇夺全国亚军（冠军是一名香港学生）！更激动人心的是，王轩同学还以优异的综合素质赢得比赛唯一单项奖――最具潜力奖，将由21世纪英语报资助，在明年五月唯一代表中国参加在英国伦敦举行的国际英语演讲比赛。 |

第五届 “21世纪学乐杯” 英语演讲比赛演讲稿

If time could be turned
back
It is the year 3044. The world is in
total chaos. I stumble down an empty boulevard, desperately looking fsomeone, anyone who belongs to the human race. And it’s getting
more more futile. Above me a crow screams harshly, decaying leaves
twist turn in a dirty sullen sky, Is this really the end of the
world?
No! it can’t be. Where is my family, where is
my school, where is my close dear familiar world? What
is going on?
I wake up. I realize it was a
dreadful nightmare. But how could I dream this? What is …what is
happening to me? I’ve always been an optimist picturing the future
in an ideal way. A future where there’s no conflict, no hypocrisy,
no jealousy, no hate no revenge. An absolutely innocent
world.
However I know there’re so many
problems facing our planet, water contamination, starvation,
deforestation, violence injustice. But I want it all to
change, I want miracles to happen now, the greatest miracle, as far
as I can see, is if time could be turned back.
If time could be turned back, I want
Israel Palestine to sit peacefully at the negotiation table defuse
their simmering hatred. I want the human tragedy of so many innocent
people being killed to stop.
I wish the attack on Hezbollah in
southern Lebanon never ever happened.
If time could be turned back, I want
Japanese ex-prime minister Koizumi to understhow abrasive it is to
visit Yasukuni Shrine. I want Japanese government members to
acknowledge China’s efforts to create a better Sino-Japan
relationship. I wish they could pluck up their courage to take on
the responsibility of their history.
If time could be turned back, I want all
governments to be more forward-looking take steps to stop
environmental pollution. I want people to know how essential it is
to live in harmony with nature how important it is to create a
better place.
But we can’t turn back time. There is
no medication in the world that can cure remorse. So we must think
twice before starting anything.
We need a better future now. We need
to be genuine. We need to respect diverse cultures. We need a stable
civilization based on long lasting happiness. We must make the
commitment to create the future of our dreams we must never forget
it’s never too late to take
action!
